Yuyu Rau speaks fluent English, Chinese Mandarin and Taiwanese. She trained in ballet, contemporary dance, Chinese martial arts and Chinese classical dance in Taiwan before moving to the UK in 2006. Yuyu obtained MA: Performing Arts at Chichester University in 2009. 


Yuyu won Best Supporting Actress from Flicks Film Festival for Estranged in 2020. She has been invited to perform "Who am I" at the TED Talk 2013 and has since worked for National Theatre and The Royal Court Theatre. Yuyu stars in BBC3 sitcom Chinese Burn as one of the leads Fufu. You can also see her in CHANNEL4 drama Chimerica and BBC1 One Child.

​​Yuyu started writing her own comedy sketch since Autumn 2019 and during the 3 months lock-down, she started producing her own work on YouTube channel including the comedy sketches and dance/poem videos. Go to her YouTube Channel.

Yuyu has worked with a plethora of leading UK choreographers, directors and companies including Wayne McGregor, Carrie Cracknell, Luca Silvestrini’s Protein, Javier De Frutos, Lucy Guerin, Jean Abreu, and Clod Ensemble.
